The second race Central Oregon Race Series saw much better weather and racing conditions than the first race, held one week earlier.  With temperatures in the mid-70s and a light breeze, conditions were near ideal.  In the B race, a three person break away began early and held on for the finish.  Unattached rider Jim Lindsey was able to win the sprint from his breakaway companions and Hutch's team mates, Helen Grogan and Dan Davis.  Chad Lowe led the splintered filed for 4th place.   In the A race, junior David Robinson attacked with seven laps to go and built nearly a 30 second lead.  His efforts were thwarted when the more experienced and criterium savvy Eric Martin and Ed Roberts bridged on the last lap to sneak past David at the line.  Eric edged Ed in a repeat of the finish of the 2000 Masters Twilight Criterium at the CCC.  Eric Long won the field sprint 15 seconds later for fourth place.
This is the last scheduled race in the series, but hopefully others will follow later in the season.  A different venue may be necessary, though, because of the heavy use schedule at the deschutes county Fairgrounds.
