The varied terrain is a perfect intro for the remaining stages. The extra loop for the Pro/1/2s includes a strech of rough road between Vinson and Pine City. All other roads are OK.
The shorter loop also has some rough road along Little Butter Creek, between Lena Jct. & Myers Road intersection.

Ione to Fossil

Save some energy after the morning TT. This course is a roller coaster ride of hills, with a great downhill finish. The Pro 1/2s will start their 83 mile stage at 1:00 pm. The other fields start their 63 mile stage at 1:40pm.
The finish is 1,600 feet in elevation higher than the start.

A tough stage with nearly 4,000 feet of climbing. Two major climbs with an exhilarating descent, leading to a 400 meter uphill finish. The Pro 1/2s will hit the road at 9:00am, followed by all other catagories.
All catagories ride this entire 85 mile course.
