Track Racing



at the Alpenrose Velodrome
Racing for Masters, Novice Women and Juniors
Every Friday Night at 6 pm - May through August

*Categories: (Brand new GT rental bikes for those without a bike, only $5)
Masters A: 30 plus and a cat 1/2/3 Masters B: 45 plus any category or
Masters 35 category 4/5
Masters C: First Year Masters 30+ Novice Women: First and second year
women, any age, cat 4/5
Juniors A: 10-14 (race 6-6:30pm) Juniors B: 15 to 18 (race at 6-6:30pm)

Races: Mass start events of random distances, everything from long points
races (final race during June and July) to the Alpenrose mile.  Racing
canceled in the event of rain. Juniors start at 6pm sharp and race until
6:30pm, Only Masters and Novice Women's fields will race from
6:30pm-Dark.  Fields with under 5 riders will be combined.

Prizes: Sports Kilts for the top Junior Male and Female, and for the top
first year Novice Woman and Men's Master rider.  There will be primes each
night and end of the year team prizes determined by the number of riders
who show up during the season.

Fees: ORBA membership required, Registration opens at 5:30
Spectators and Parking.. free!  Bike rental.. $5
Masters and Women: $7/night or $75/year;
Juniors: $5/night or $50/year
Helmets required and all OBRA track racing rules apply.

Location: Alpenrose Dairy; 6149 SW Shattuck Road; Portland

Take the Twilliger exit off of I-5, then go (north) on Bertha St. or
Twilliger to Highway 10 and take a left (west). Follow Highway 10,
also called the Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy, until you get to the Wendy's
and take a left (south) on Shattuck Street. Follow Shatuck for half a
mile, and turn right into the Alpenrose Dairy, and go until you see it.

*You can be moved between A and B and C depending on performance (not
restricted to categories).  There must be at least 5 people in a category
to have a separate mass start race.  Any less will make it a time trial
night and/or sprint rounds.
