Mt Ashland Hillclimb

Attack le Col du Ashland! (HC)

Hit the Road, Toad!
Start with your back to those hairy-legged mountain bikers, looking into the flashing lights of an official police escort. Warm-up your climbing legs with the pack heading out of town on historic route 66 before turning up old hiway 99. Six miles of climbing will get you to the feed zone where you can fill your water bottles. Crossing under the I-5 will take you to the access road where you will continue the ascent for 9 more miles to the Mt. Ashland ski lodge. Merge with the mountain bikers for the final two miles, for a head to head battle to the finish line.

The roads are excellent for this 25 mile ride as it rises 4500 feet. Ride your lightest wheels.

Hit the Dirt, Squirt!

Start with your back to those too-clean roadies as you psyche yourself up for a beautiful climb through old growth forest. No warm up for the mountain bikers as they begin their climb right from the starting line. You'll begin climbing through Lithia Park to loop road, left at Four Corners and right on road 2080, then left at Bull gap. Merge with the roadies for the final two miles for a head to head battle to the finish line. Wildlife, fresh-air and lots of shade for this 18 mile climb.

Please note: In an effort to make things as fair and exciting as possible, no cyclo-cross bikes are allowed on the off-road course. All off-road competitors must use standard mt bike wheels and have tires that measure at least 1.5 inches. (regular mt. bike tires).

Registration: All races start promptly at 9 (nine) AM from the downtown Ashland plaza. The friendly registration staff will open it's office at 7:30 and closes precisely at 8:45. Get there early if you've decided to wait until race day to register.
