    ------- Siskiyou Cyclery Presents -------

"2001 SPRING THAW MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE"
               ASHLAND, OREGON
             SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2001

Yeah! Winter is over and it's time for the Spring Thaw! Come to
Ashland for an exhilarating 25 mile course of forest service road,
single track trail, thrilling descents, and a grueling climb thrown
in just to make you earn the great feast that will be awaiting you
at the finish line.
The race/ride once again begins in Ashland's beautiful Lithia Park
(right downtown) and starts out with a challenging climb up and out of
the city into pristine forest. The top of the climb crests out and
around the scenic Ashland watershed area, where riders encounter
rolling hills and gentle terrain.
After reaching the summit, it's miles and miles of gnarly downhill
single track (including the Horn Gap trail) and abandoned jeep trails
back to the finish line in Lithia Park.
This is a course that has something for everyone, beginner to
advanced, and is part of the Oregon Mountain Bike Series. So get 'yer
saddle on the old steed and come on out to the Spring Thaw!

Entry fee includes food during the race, great vittles at the finish
line, maps, insurance, and a well run race!
