Cat 4 Women's Series

The 2008 Norman Babcock Cat 4 Women's Series features six events in various road racing disciplines during summer 2008. Promoters have agreed to run separate cat 4 women's fields at these events:

June 15 Mt. Tabor Circuit Race (Portland)
June 29 Salem Fairview Circuit Race (Salem)
July 5 Firecracker Criterium (Eugene)
August 3 High Desert Road Race (Bend)
August 10 OBRA Time Trial Championship (Peoria) late addition
August 16 Mary's Peak Hillclimb (Corvallis) cancelled
August 16 Swan Island Criterium (Portland) late addition
August 30 & September 1 Eugene Celebration Stage Race (Eugene)

Thanks to generous sponsorship from Veloforma, the top overall finisher in the race series will win a new Veloforma women's road frame. Prizes for other competitors will come from key sponsors, including Luna.

The top 10 finishers at each event will receive series points, following this scale:

  • 1st 100
  • 2nd 70
  • 3rd 50
  • 4th 40
  • 5th 36
  • 6th 32
  • 7th 28
  • 8th 24
  • 9th 20
  • 10th 16

Updated points standings during the series will be posted here on the OBRA website.

This series honors the late Norman Babcock, of Eugene, a strong supporter of women's cycling who recently passed away. The goal of the series is to offer women opportunities and encouragement to try various kinds of road racing.
